Wellesley Massachusetts Real Estate

The Charles River has been inspiring and calming people for centuries. It is no wonder that when settlers first came to what is now called Wellesley, they decided to name the town “Contentment.” Though the name has changed, the sentiment remains.

The history of this town is one of the many points of pride for the residents of Wellesley. It holds such a special place in their hearts that on its tri-centennial anniversary, the town blossomed into a year-long tribute to the area. Residents learned about the town’s foundation and renewed their commitment to continue the success of Wellesley.

Today, the town is characterized by an abnormally strong sense of civic duty where residents donate their time to help the government and community organizations thrive. The town’s values are symbolized in its seal, which displays Native American tomahawks and arrows, a book, and a flower. At the time, they symbolized the nearby Native American tribes, the colleges and universities, and the town gardens.

Now, these symbols stand for the strong history of the land, the dedication to education, and the town’s concern for its future. The three colleges and remarkable public education system makes it easy for residents to appreciate the value and benefits of education, while the government invests in keeping the natural beauty of the area safe for the future. Open spaces abound and historic buildings are restored rather than removed so that residents and visitors alike can enjoy the beauty of the classical architecture.

The strong community spirit didn’t end when the tri-centennial celebration did. Instead, residents get together in a variety of town activities. Each year, the weekend before Memorial Day, the town hosts Wellesley’s Wonderful Weekend. You’ll see live performances and partake in incredible activities including a veteran’s parade and the biggest firework show put on by any local town in the country.

As a predominantly single-family home community, Wellesley has been thriving in the recovering housing market. The Wellesley real estate is regularly valued at nearly one million dollars, and their worth is on the rise. Compared to 2012, Wellesley homes for sale have increased in value more than 11%. If you want to invest in an incredible home with a brilliant history, Wellesley, MA real estate is the perfect choice for you.
